Our confidential client operates in the industrial manufacturing sector, specializing in high performance compressors and blowers used in environmental and municipal infrastructure across Canada. Their global engineering backbone has been building industrial equipment for over a century, while the Canadian division operates with a small, collaborative and hands-on team. This is not a startup. This is not chaotic. This is a stable, engineering driven environment with a supportive leadership style and long term opportunity. The inside sales technical team is small, approximately four professionals, working closely with outside sales, service teams and engineering. The vibe is professional, respectful and practical. No micromanagement. No politics. Just solid technical work and collaboration.


Why This Role Exists

The team is growing! This is an expansion role to support increasing project demand and quotation volume. The position sits in the technical back office inside sales group. It supports revenue but does not carry individual sales quotas. It is a resource driven team that enables projects to move forward. This is technical sales engineering. You are not designing equipment from scratch. You are selecting, configuring and supporting solutions that will be sold. Over time, this role becomes customer facing.


Responsibilities

  • Support the sales managers and representatives with review of specifications, equipment selection, pricing, and proposal preparation.
  • Present differentiating technologies, products, and support services to existing and new customers.
  • Be a resource and point of contact for customers by providing technical knowledge expertise and documentation regarding company equipment and systems.
  • Support project and account managers with product knowledge to satisfy customer needs.
  • Interact professionally with company sales, project management, engineering, procurement, and customer support personnel regarding specific equipment, customers, and projects.
  • Understand and address the customer's technical specifications with internal equipment datasheets, understanding stakeholder concerns as well as equipment, application and project risks.
  • Provide the best possible “Customer Value + company Solution” that is safe, efficient, reliable, and profitable for the client as well as for company.
  • Build long-term customer relationships through management and interpretation of their needs.
  • Support the development of sales strategies for new products.
  • Provide technical selling support and product applications support.
  • Develop process improvement initiatives to better support the Canadian market and the company team. Report any situation that could lead to a harmful, dangerous, or hostile environment to your immediate supervisor.


Experience

  • Postsecondary education diploma Mechanical, electromechanical or electrical
  • Technician or Bachelor's
  • Engineering Degree Mechanical, electromechanical or electrical a plus.
  • Minimum 2-years experience with quotation and estimation of industrial equipment, preferably in the Municipal sector.
  • Specific experience with blower and compressor technologies or in Environmental sector is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license class 5.


Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in French and English preferred, both written and spoken.


Technical Skills:

  • Prior experience with enterprise-wide software systems and customer relationship management software.
  • Proficiency navigating and using internet-based programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and document management systems (SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive).
  • High level of proficiency with Excel programming.
  • High level of proficiency with CAD software, AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read General Arrangement drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
